81-year old Sheffield woman left shaken after confronted by burglar

An elderly woman has had a quantity of cash, her bank card and some jewellery stolen from her flat in Skelton Way, Woodhouse.

The incident took place at around 5 pm on Monday 9 October: the woman was sat in the living room when she heard a noise coming from her bedroom.

When the woman went into the bedroom she was confronted by a man, who proceeded to force the door shut before leaving via the window – luckily she was not injured.

The man is said to have been wearing a green tracksuit and left the area across a grassed area between Skelton Lane and Water Slacks Drive.

South Yorkshire Police have launched their investigation and are asking anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in or around the Skelton Way area that day and into the evening to contact them.
